Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Budget Pal ("we", "us") handles information when you use the Budget Pal mobile application (the "App").

Information we collect

We collect only the information needed to operate the App:

We do not collect analytics, advertising identifiers, location, contacts, photos, or device identifiers. We do not use third-party trackers.

How we use information

We use your account information to authenticate you and to send account-related emails (such as email verification and password reset). We use your budget data solely to provide the App's features to you on your own devices.

How information is stored

Account credentials and budget data are stored on Google Cloud infrastructure (Firebase Authentication and Firestore). Transactional emails are sent through Resend. These providers process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy commitments.

Sharing

We do not sell your information and we do not share it with third parties for advertising or marketing. We share data only with the service providers above to the extent necessary to operate the App, and when required by law.

Your choices and rights

You can view and edit your data inside the App at any time. To delete your account and all associated data, open the App, tap the account icon in the top-right of the My Budgets screen, choose Delete account, and confirm with your password. If you have not yet verified your email, you can use the Delete account instead link on the verification screen. Deletion is immediate and removes your account email, all budgets, income, bills, and custom categories. If you cannot access the App, email support@thebudgetpal.com from the account's email address and we will delete it manually.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights such as access, correction, or portability of your personal information. To exercise any of these rights, email support@thebudgetpal.com.

Data retention

We keep your account and budget data for as long as your account is active. When you request deletion, we remove your account and your budget data from our active systems. Residual copies in routine backups are purged on our providers' standard backup rotation.

Children

Budget Pal is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Security

We rely on industry-standard protections from our service providers, including TLS in transit and encryption at rest. No system is perfectly secure; please use a strong, unique password.

International users

Budget Pal is operated from the United States. If you use the App from outside the U.S., your information will be transferred to and processed in the U.S. and other countries where our providers operate.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date above. Material changes will be communicated in the App or by email when appropriate.
